No, appointments are currently arranged directly. This allows us to ask the right questions, recommend the most suitable service and make sure enough time is allocated for your dog’s groom.

Please make sure your dog has had a chance to toilet before arriving. It is also helpful to let us know about any medical conditions, sensitive areas, behavioural concerns, allergies or previous grooming issues before the appointment.

Puppies can usually start gentle grooming appointments once they have completed their vaccinations and it is safe for them to visit. If you’re unsure, please check with your vet and contact us to discuss the best time to start.

Yes. We take a calm and patient approach and will always try to help your dog feel as comfortable as possible. Please let us know in advance if your dog is nervous, reactive, elderly, or has had a difficult grooming experience before.

Yes, Kirsty has a particular interest in natural coat care and hand-stripping for suitable wire-haired breeds, including breeds such as Border Terriers and some Spaniels. If you are interested in hand-stripping, please mention this when you enquire.

Hand-stripping is a traditional grooming technique used for suitable wire-haired coats. It helps remove dead coat by hand rather than clipping, supporting the coat’s natural texture, colour and condition. Not every dog or coat is suitable, so this can be discussed before an appointment is arranged.

Appointment times vary depending on your dog’s size, coat, condition and the type of groom required. Some appointments may be relatively short, while larger dogs, heavy coats, hand-stripping or matted coats may need longer.

If your dog’s coat is matted, we will discuss the safest and kindest approach. Severe matting can be uncomfortable for dogs and may limit what style is possible. Your dog’s welfare will always come first.
